Beyond measure | Thankfulness

Thanks to the Intrepid Radicals who inspire us to dream and to act

Its been about 1 year since PC Coffee became an official business.  We’ve come a long way in a year’s time and it has been a group effort for sure.

These thanks are by no means exhaustive but a start to a very long, ever growing list…

To the ones we do know

Chad and Krista who daringly and trustingly jump off one cliff after another.

Josh and Stacy who took us into their home while we learned the business.

Jim and Rafael who volunteered to teach two total strangers everything they know.

Our Parents and siblings who love and support us despite our crazy antics.

The farmers and harvesters who do the hardest, most overlooked part of coffee work.

The Doulos Discovery Family who equip and serve and impact everyday.

The early adopters whose support put legs on our business.

And the newest member of our family business.

Owner's of the Spirit Mountain coffee farm in the Dominican Republic

To the ones we have yet to meet

Shane who opened our eyes that another world is possible.

Don who helped us to tell a better story.

Michael, Eric, and Joel who taught us that our choices reflect our beliefs.

Wendell who loves his community with a fiery passion

To The One who knows us best

You lead the way.  We can only follow.

Meeting Folks

local love | working toward change

We love the chance to sit down over a cup of coffee with people that love this city for its potential.  As we spread the word of profoundly good coffee and work to establish ourselves as a Tyler local business we have had the honor of crossing paths with some flat out amazing folks.  We revel in the optimism and hope  these guys have for their city.  We cherish the conversations that weave stories together and create a deeper community.

These local businesses and organizations love this city and its people through their work.  Get to know these folks and brace yourselves Tyler; because of these intrepid radicals, you are on your way from good to profoundly good.

The Fix Shop | Come Together Trading | Moss – Where flowers are fair | Mission Tyler | For the Silent | Sweet Hope Cafe and Cake Shop | East Texas Community Food Coalition | True Vine Brewing

This is not to say these are the only local places that love this city…These are just the amazing folks we have had the chance to actually meet.  There are many more we are still eager to sit down with.

We will bring the coffee.

Come Together

Have you ever read a story with just one character?  Perhaps but they are few and the  point of those stories is most often that we can’t do things all on our own.

The story of Porch Culture has M A N Y characters.  All forward movement in the story of Porch Culture is credited to those that have come before us and those that have come along side us.
Today we joined stories with another Tyler based project we would call profoundly good, Come Together Trading Company.

In their own words “Come Together Trading Co. is a Christ-Centered Fair Trade Retail Store seeking to help people living and working in unfair conditions across the world by providing them with a marketplace for the beautiful products they produce…[The shop] was founded on the simple idea that if we could just “Come Together” we could help one another.”

Come Together originally started with a location in Canton, TX.  As of November 2012, the shop is now operating out of Tyler in the Bergfeld shopping center.  The inspiration for the shop is a beautiful story indeed.  In a nutshell, founders Tammy and Terry Marshall took a life changing trip,  identified a need, took a risk, and a store that exists to restore lives came into being.  You can read the full story at cometogethertrading.com.

We are stoked and humbled that they have allowed our coffee to be sold alongside such story-rich, beautiful products.  But its not our coffee after all.  It belongs to the farm and those that labored to get it to us and ultimately to you.

So if you live in Tyler and are in need of profoundly good coffee…or chocolate, or earrings, or a winter hat, or any number of beautiful things…stop by Come Together Trading and join us and them in telling a better story with the things we buy.
